Language is a tool to communicate with humans through spoken, written, or symbols. Symbols used to communicate are usually found in works of art, such as weaving. Semiotics is the science of meaning, meaning behind symbols. Symbols we can find symbols in cultures. In this research, the researcher analyzed the symbol and the meaning of each symbol of Lawo. The aims of this research are 1) To know the kinds of symbols found on the Lawo traditional weaving cloth for women in Ende and 2) To describe the semiotic meanings found on each symbol on the Lawo traditional weaving cloth for women in Ende. It is descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted at Nggela village, Wolojita sub-district Ende regency. The result of this research proves that there are 11 symbols, and the meaning of each symbol that are contained on Lawo traditional weaving cloth for women in Ende regency,East Nusa Tenggara they are Nggaja (elephant), Gerugiwa (bird), Jara (horse), Kelimara (mountain), Mboko wea (Gold), Mata kerara (breadfruit), Mata rajo (ship), Lawo Rangka (bones), Lawo Wonga kune (flower), Mboko One lawo Siku Mbira (heart), Mata rote(vines). The researcher hopes future researchers can find more symbols that the researcher may not find and promote other cultures, such as traditional ceremonies.
