The study is entitled “An Analysis on Taboo Words and Satanic Symbols Found in Bring Me The Horizon’s Song Lyrics”. This study was conducted to describe and analyze the kinds of taboo words, the functions of taboo words and the kinds of satanic symbol in Bring Me the Horizon’s song lyrics. This study applied descriptive qualitative method. The data was 15 song lyrics. The result of this studies showed that there are taboo words of profanity appears 45 times, epithets 12 times, obscenity 11 times, and vulgarity 2 times. Meanwhile, the functions of taboo word to draw attention to oneself appear 22 times, to be provocative 20 times, to show contempt 20 times, and to mock authority 7 times. The writer concluded that the song writer often used taboo words profanity which related to religious term in profane. Meanwhile, the song writer often used the functions of taboo words such to draw attentions to oneself which mean to have power in gaining listener’s attention. According to the result in this study, the writer concluded that all selected the songs of Bring Me The Horizon contain taboo words and satanic symbols which represent sarcasm or insult to religion term.
