The title of this research is “Compound Words in Tana Boleng Dialect of Lamaholot Language“. The aim of this research is to find out the structure of compound words and the types of compound words in Tana Boleng dialect of Lamaholot language (TBDLL). This research used qualitative descriptive method. The data are taken from original informants of Tana Boleng Dialect of Lamaholot Language speakers through interview method. The result of analysis showed that compound words in TBDLL are structured by combining two different words whether the words in same category or different category. The structure of compound words are built by combining noun (N) with noun (N), for instance Rera wulan ‘God’ which is built by the noun rera ‘sun’ and the noun wulan ‘moon’ ; noun (N) with verb (V), for instance patun tawan ‘rainbow’ which is built by the noun patun ‘statue’ and the verb tawan ‘grow’ ; verb (V) with noun (N), for instance natan rura ‘cooking’, which is built by the verb natan ‘set’ and the noun rura ‘fireplace’ ; verb (V) with verb (V), for instance, bu’a behin ‘party’, which is built by verb bu’a ‘eat’ and the verb behin ‘pour’ ; noun (N) with adjective (Adj), for instance, ekan dahe ‘dawn’ which is built by the noun ekan ‘situation’ and the adjective dahe ‘near’ ; and adjective (Adj) with adjective (Adj), for instance nala wahan ‘strange’, which is built by the adjective nala ‘wrong’ and the adjective wahan ‘other’. Referring to the theory of types of compound words, the types of compound words found in TBDLL, can be further classified into compund noun, compound verb, and compound adjective.
