This writing is aimed to identify the main characters and to describe the characterizations of the main characters in A Christmas Carol movie directed by Robert Zemeckis. Statement of problems in this writing are: 1) What are the main characters in A Christmas Carol movie directed by Robert Zemeckis; 2) What are the characterizations of the main characters in A Christmas Carol movie directed by Robert Zemeckis. The kind of research used in this writing is descriptive qualitative research so the writer is the direct instrument who finds and actively collects the data by watching the movie, either by seeing, hearing, and feeling it. The data is taken from some previous studies which related to the study and is analysed based on the theory of characterization proposed by Burhan Nurgiyantoro. The techniques used in this writing were watching the movie, taking notes, taking screenshots, reviewing, combining the theories and allfindings, then presenting new findings by collaborating the data from the previous studies. The result of this study is the main characters and its characterizations. There are five main characters with their characterizations in A Christmas Carolmovie directed by Robert Zemeckis. They are Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley, Ghost of Christmas Past, Ghost of Christmas Present, and Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. This writing is recomended for those who wanted to learn about character and characterization especially in the world of literature.
