English vocabulary is a fundamental and important thing to learn. The purpose of learning vocabulary is to help the students to be able to communicate. The students need to learn vocabulary first before mastering the four skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Flashcards can be used as a learning medium that is interesting and helpful for students. In this research, the researcher used flashcards on fruit names. These reasons drive the researcher to research using flashcards to improve students' vocabulary for seventh graders at SMPK St. Yoseph Noelbaki in the school year 2022/2023. This study was conducted to answer the two formulated research questions. (1) Do flashcards improve the vocabulary of seventh graders at SMPK St. Yoseph Noelbaki? and (2) To what extent do flashcards improve the vocabulary of seventh graders at SMPK St. Yoseph Noelbaki in 2022/2023? This study aims to find out how flashcards improve the vocabulary of seventh graders at SMPK St. Yoseph Noelbaki and to know the extent that flashcards improve the vocabulary of the seventh graders at SMPK St. Yoseph Noelbaki The researcher conducted classroom action research in this research. There were 25 participants taken as the subjects in this research. The data were gathered from tests (pre-test and post-test). The tests were used as the primary instruments for the supportive data to support the result. This research showed that a flashcard on fruit names could improve the Student's vocabulary. The mean score of each test proved it. From the pre-test until the post-test, the mean scores increased. The pre-test score was low (60.8). After conducting classroom action research, the researcher found that the average score increased (87.4). In conclusion, flashcards on fruit names can improve the Student's vocabulary of the seventh-grade students of SMPK St. Yoseph Noelbaki. Keywords: flashcard, vocabulary, improvement
