This research was entitled "An Analysis of Cultural Symbols of Kaif Nunkolo Woven Custom from South Amanatun, South Central Timor Regency, Worn by President Joko Widodo On Indonesian's 75th Independence Anniversary". This title is selected based on the writer's anxiety to analyzing the relation between the symbols and the meanings implied found on kaif berantai Nunkolo itself. The research subject of this study is Kaif Nunkolo as the traditional woven custom from South Central Timor Regency. This research was aimed to analyzing and describing the meanings of the symbolic forms found on Kaif Nunkolo woven custom. The writer conduct this research uses a qualitative method and the type is a qualitative interpretative method because, the writer conducts an analysis of all the contents of the sign found on kaif Nunkolo woven custom worn by President Joko Widodo On Indonesian's 75th independence anniversary. The result obtained from this research are six symbols and five basic colors found on kaif Nunkolo itself. The symbols are in different shapes and indicate different meanings. The meanings are shown in the context of culture and power, used Peirce's semiotics triangle model intends explained and described the data more detail. The context can be seen from all kinds of symbols found from head to feet includes the accessories which classified into represantement, interpretant and object. Therefore, from the data analysis, the writer found that meanings implied have correlation between culture and power for who wore the kaif Nunkolo. It can be concluded that symbols found on kaif Nunkolo woven custom provide meanings based on the context of culture and the symbols indicate power in Nunkolo.
