This study is entitled “An Analysis of Indonesian Slang For Teenagers In Samarinda, As The Capital City of East Kalimantan Province” The research was conducted for 3 weeks, from 3 June 2022 to 24 June 2022 in Samarinda, the city of East Kalimantan Province. There are 2 problems and 2 aims in this writing. The problems of this study were what slangs are currently popular among teenagers in Samarinda and what are the types and the meanings of slang usually used by the teenagers in Samarinda. The aims are to find out the currently popular slangs among teenagers in Samarinda and to know about the types and the meanings of slang that are usually used by the teenagers in Samarinda. There were 10 respondents taken as the respondents of this research. The instruments used for data collection were observation, interview, take notes, and selfreflection. The results of analysis show that the most used slang by teenagers were Home slangs and Public slangs and most slang form that used by them were Shortened form, Injection form, Figurative Expression form, Nickname form, Basic Word form, Reduplication form, and Abbreviation form. The findings show that teenagers in Samarinda mostly used slangs with denotative and connotative meanings. Although, teenagers in Samarinda often used slangs in their daily or everyday conversations but in fact many of them not really know what slang means because they only used slang to follow trends in social media or their group in school and community.
