This research was conducted with the tittle of Research The Ability Of Second Grade Students Of Sman 7 Kota Kupang In Writing Report Text In Academic Year 2022/2023. The subjects of this research consisted of 32 students. The aims of this study are to find out the extent of students’ abilities in writing report texts and what problems are faced by second grade students of SMAN7 KOTA KUPANG in writing report texts. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The instrument used by the researcher to collect data are written test and interview. The results of the study show that there is the ability to write report text. Most of the students gradually got good scores at the end. The score of minimal minimum completeness criteria (KKM) for English lesson is 75 (seventy five). The average value is 70.25%. in conclusion, writing reports improves student’ writing skills.
