<note>Ekosistem mangrove adalah ekosistem yang memiliki manfaat yang sangat besar dengan jenis vegetasi  yang kehidupannya sangat tergantung oleh kondisi lingkungan seperti pasang surut dan salinitas air laut. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas dan potensi karbon tersimpan pada ekosistem mangrove di Teluk Lewoleba. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli 2022 di 5 stasiun pengamatan dengan metode transek dan plot, masing-masing stasiun dibuat 3 transek dan satu transek terdiri dari 3 plot berukuran 20 m x 20 m (pohon), yang didalamnya dibuat petak berukuran 10 m x 10 m (tiang), 5 m x 5 m (pancang) dan 2 m x 2 m (semai). Pengukuran dan perhitungan biomassa batang dilakukan secara non-destcrutive dan persamaan alometrik. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 6 jenis mangrove yaitu Bruguiera gymnorhiza, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Sonneratia alba, Avicennia marina dan Ceriops tagal, dengan rata-rata indeks nilai penting 300%, indeks keanekaragaman jenis mangrove (1.19) tergolong sedang, indeks kelimpahan jenis (0.78) tergolong merata dan indeks dominansi mangrove (0.36) tergolong rendah. Total keseluruhan karbon tersimpan yaitu 5.11 ton/ha dan serapan CO2 18.77 ton/ha.

Mangrove ecosystem is an ecosystem that has enormous benefits with types of vegetation whose life is very dependent on environmental conditions such as tides and sea water salinity. The purpose of this research was to determine the community structure and potential conducted in July 2022 at 5 observation stations using the transect and plot method, each station made 3 transects and one transect consists of 3 plots measuring 20 m × 20 m (trees), in wich plots were made measuring 10 m × 10 m (poles), 5 m × 5 m (stakes) and 2 m × 2 m (seedlings). Measurement and calculations of stem biomass was carried out using non-destructive and allometric equations. The results found 6 types of mangroves namely Bruguiera gymnorhiza, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Sonneratia alba, Avicennia marina and Ceriops tagal, with an average importance value index of 300%, the mangrove species diversity index (1.19) is moderate, the species abundance index (0.78) is evenly distributed and the mangrove dominance index (0.36) is low. The total stored carbon is 5.11 tons/ha and CO2 absorption is 18.77 tons/ha.
