<note>This research was entitled “A Semiotic Analysis of tradition calendar in Boti Community, Ki’e Sub-Disctrict, South Central Timor Regency’’. The subject of this research is traditional calendar. This research aimed at finding out the signs of the Tradition calendar found in the Boti community South-Central Timor Regency and to extend the meanings of the Tradition calendar found in the Boti community South-Central Timor Regency. This research used qualitative method and the researcher collected the data through interview, note taking, picture taking and recording, from the qualified informants as the main source. The researcher used Peirce’s theory of semiotics for answering the two main research questions. Therefore, the researcher found that, the traditional calendar has its sign and has its own meaning, namely: Neon ai (fire day), Neon oe (water day), Neon besi (iron day), Neon Uis Pah ma Uisneno (God of the earth and God of the sky), Neon suli (conflict day), Neon masikat (scramble day), Neon naek (big day), Neon li’ana (children day), and Neon tokos (day of rest). Nine days has merged with Boti people life. The meaning of nine days is unique and ties into the daily lives of Boti People. Therefore, nine days become a foundation for Boti people to be independent and live simply with what they have.
