<note>The title of this study is “An Analysis of the Mastery of Question Tag Sentences by Eleventh Graders of SMA Negeri 7 Kupang”. The problems of this research can be formulated as follows; 1) to what extent is the mastery of  the eleventh graders of SMA Negeri 7 Kupang in using question tag?, 2) what kinds of errors are made by the eleventh graders of SMA Negeri 7Kupang in using question tag? This writing focuses on the mastery and errors of the question tag of the eleventh graders of SMA Negeri 7 Kupang. This research used a descriptive method. The data for this research were obtained from the result of the test that was given to the eleventh graders of SMA Negeri 7 Kota Kupang on 25th June 2022. The test consists of 20 multiple choice items. There were 40 students and they were divided into two classes namely Class A and B. The data was analyzed quantitatively and quantitatively. The data collection was done on Monday, 27th June 2022 which is located in Jl. Frans Da Romes No.66 C, Maulafa, Kec. Maulafa, Kota Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Timur. From the result of data analysis, the writer found that generally, the use of question tag of the eleventh graders of SMA Negeri 7 Kupang is still poor because the average of their score in answering the question about question tag is only 52.25. Based on the data, the writer found there are sixth rules for forming of question tag. Their strength is on the fifth rule and their weaknesses are in the first rule and the second rule. There were 20 questions with 6 numbers of question having the most students common errors. The total of students’ common errors for multiple choice test were 4 errors in affirmative-negative form, 2 errors in negative-affirmative form and no errors in exception form.
