The title of this research is : An Analysis Of Figurative Language On Natoni In Traditional Marriage Proposal In Nusa Village, Amanuban Barat Sub District, Central Timor South Regency. The objective of this research is to find out the types and the meaning of figurative language used in Natoni Adat on marriage proposal in Nusa Village. The type of the research was a descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of the research were 300 persons of the society in Nusa Village. The data were obtained by doing observation and interview the participants. The data was analyzed by using Miles and Huberman data analysis technique (Flow Model). The result showed that there were six types of figurative language used in Natoni Adat on marriage proposal in Nusa Village, while there were four meanings found in the text of Natoni adat which were spoken by the society in Nusa village when holding a marriage proposal ceremony. It could be concluded that the society of Nusa village used figurative language and it meanings in holding marriage proposal ceremonies in the society.
