This research is entitled “ An Analysis of Problems in Learning Listening Skills Faced by the Second-Semester Students of the English Study Program at Nusa Cendana University in the Academic year 2022/2023. This study was conducted to answer the research questions: 1) What are the problems in learning listening skills faced by the second-semester students of the English Study Program at Nusa Cendana University, 2) What strategies are used to overcome the students’ problems in learning a listening skill? This study aimed to find out the problems in learning listening skills and the strategies to overcome the problems in learning listening skills faced by the second-semester students of the English Study Program at Nusa Cendana University. The type of method used was the Qualitative-Descriptive method. The population of the second-semester students was 170 consisting of 40 students for each class. The result of the analysis shows that the major problems in learning to listen faced by the students were accent, uncommon vocabulary, length, and speed of listening, lack of concentration, and condition of the class. The strategies used to overcome the problems in learning listening skills were cognitive, metacognitive, and socio-affective categories Key words: Listening Problems, Listening Strategies, Learning Listening, Students
