This thesis is entitled "The Process and Meanings of Semana Santa Ritual in LarantukaCity, East Flores". This research was conducted to answer the following questions: (1) What isthe Process of the Semana Santa ritual in Larantuka City? (2) What are the Meanings of theSemana Santa ritual in Larantuka City? The aims of this research are: (1) To describe the Processof Semana Santa ritual in Larantuka City. (2) Describe the Meanings of the Semana Santa ritualin Larantuka City. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Used todescribe the cultural meaning of the Semana Santa ritual in Larantuka City, and to describe theeducational values of the Semana Santa ritual in Larantuka City. The research was conducted inLarantuka City, Larantuka District, East Flores Regency. Data was taken from five informants.Data collection techniques are interviews, observation, notes, and recording. The data obtained isprocessed through selection, and analysis. The results show that: (1). This ritual is carried outfrom one generation to the next and is carried out for a week, so Semana Santa is also commonlycalled the holy week. (2). There are three important days in the holy week where saints are trewaWednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. (3) The SemanaSanta ritual also has Meanings.(4). The Larantuka people have continued to carry out and maintain this tradition since 5centuries ago. Key words: Process, Meanings, Values, Semana Santa, Ritual
