This research aims to find and analyze the signs that represented the social gap in “the platform” movie based on the analysis model using semiotics by Charles Alexander Pierce’s theory. The collected data will be analyzed descriptively and qualitatively based on the theory of semiotics. After understanding the concept of the social gap, the researcher conducted observations on the Platform movie and found 9 scenes depicting the social gap in it, they are Class, distributing access to resources and rights, Judgmental, Selfishness, Inequality treatment, Intimidate, Racist at people’s race 1, Racist at people’s race 2. As suggested, semiotic analysis is an appropriate analysis to examine communication that is mostly built by signs, objects, and interpreted. I hope that this research study can later become a suggestion and reference to improve the quality of similar research or research in the future so that more perfect results can be obtained. Finally, the writer hopes that the study will be helpful to the English Department, especially the students of Nusa Cendana University Kupang. Keywords: Interpretation, semiotic, social gap
