The title of this research is “SEMIOTIC ANALYSIS OF FISH FATOLA WEAVING MOTIVE IN UMAPURA COMMUNITY ON TERNATE ISLAND, ALOR REGENCY. The purposes of this research Weavers would know about the cultural values contained in the Fatola weaving before making it. Therefore, this writing can motivate the weavers to more appreciate the cultural values of the weavings and still preserve the cultural values of the weaving. The researchers hope that readers will gain insights into the cultural values contained in weaving, especially from Fish Fatola weaving Motive. This research used qualitative descriptive method. the researcher used Fatola Weaving as the source of the data, Informants were people who come from the Umapura community. Even though Fatola weaving is a symbol in the Umapura community, people didn’t know the details about Fatola weaving. There are four symbols or motifs found in Fatola Blue, Red, Green and Brown, most of them represent the same meaning except the color itself which distinguish the function. The similiarity amoung the function, Blue Fatola as raw material for people’s clothes, Red Fatola Weaving used for marriage, Green Fatola worn by Royal Family and Brown Fatola Weaving used to welcome the Guest and used in funeral ceremony.
