<note>Writing is one of skills in English that must be learned by students in terms of choosing, assembling and arranging words or sentences in increasing their writing in learning English. The aim of this study is: to know whether the use of short animated stories in improve the skills of the tenth- grade of SMAN 4  Kota Kupang  in the Academic Year  2022/2023. The method used in this research is qualitative method using case study type. The population of this research are the tenth grade students of SMAN 4 Kota Kupang. The tenth grade of the school consists of 12 classes that as IPA 6 classes and IPS 6 classes. The sample of this research are class IPA 2 which of 33 students. Because students more active in learning English. The research instrument the writer used to collect the data is a writing test. The research techniques of this research are observation and interview. In the data analysis technique from writing test, observation, and interview be analyzed in the manner of descriptive qualitative way. Students’ writing ability can seen from the writing test, that students writing test can be measured from students abilities because from 90% of students there is an increase in writing narrative text using short animated stories media. But there are two students who are still below the standard in writing. The results above indicate that there is an increase in students writing skills from the result of the test.Furthermore, the qualitative data showed that all the learning activities gave contributions not  only improved the students writing ability at Narrative Text but also the students interest, enthusiasm, and motivation.
