This study aims to know the types of wh-questions commonly used in narrative text in JP Book Bahasa Inggris untuk Sekolah Menengah Atas semester genap and to know the functions of wh-questions that the researcher found in narrative text in JP Books Bahasa Inggris untuk Sekolah Menengah Atas - semester genap. The research method that was used in this research was a qualitative method and used content analysis. The instruments that were used in this research are three narrative texts from chapter one that was taken from JP Book Bahasa Inggris untuk Sekolah Menengah AtasSemester Genap as a source of data. The result of data analysis shows that the use of what is the highest and the use of whom is the lowest. The use of what is the highest than the use of who, where, when, why, the use of how is categorized as the rare and the use whom is the lowest in Narrative Texts in JP Book Bahasa Inggris untuk Sekolah Menengah Atas- Semester Genap. The result of identifying the functions of Wh- Questions shows that the use of function of what as activities of question is the highest, why as reason, who as subject, who as object, the use of function of what as adjective, what as offer, what as subject,what as object, when as time, how as manner are categorized as the rare, and the use of function of how much, how many, how length of time are the lowest because the use of how much, how many, how length of time in question is just one in its Narrative Text in JP Book Bahasa Inggris untuk Sekolah Menengah Atas- Semester Genap.
