The study was conducted to find out the meaning contained in symbols in Fu’h (Blow) To’is. Researcher used descriptive qualitative research methods. This research used three main technique of data collection, (1) participant observation (2) audio-video recording (3) interview. The data used in this study were obtained from To’is Hanan in Onen U’im Ta’uf (Household Worship) and Amates (Someone die). To’is (Classical Trumpet) is a traditional musical instrument from Timor. It is made of cow horns and wood, and it is similar to a trumpet. It is played by blowing and the sound it produces is not as melodious as that of trumpet. In modern era, many people from the Timor tribe and those who are not from the Timor tribe do not understand the meaning and the symbols contained in Fu’h To’is. This is the reason why researcher uses the Fu’h To’is as an object in this research. To’is is only blown at a certain time and place because every blow of To’is expresses a specific meaning and sign. The purpose of this research is that people, whether from the Timor tribe or not from Timor tribe, do not consider the Fu’h To’is only as entertainment, but also as a medium to understand the culture this event belongs to. The data source of this research was obtained from Imanuel Babuin Church, in Babuin Village of Kolbano District of South-Central Timor Regency, on December 11th, 2022. From the analysis, the researcher found two symbols in Fu’h To’is, each of which has a meaning that are displayed in the intended Fu’h To’is through Ferdinad’s theory of sign (1967), which consists of; signifier and signified.
