This study aims to describe the implementation of learning that applies the use of Shooting Star Game as an effort to increase students' vocabulary on “Things Around Us”. The use of Shooting Star Game is one method that can activate students' abilities during the learning process to improve vocabulary. The use of game learning provides opportunities for students to be directly involved in the learning process. This situation was expected to be able to provide motivation for students to better understood and memorized vocabulary through the use of this game. This research was conducted in a classroom action research setting (CAR), which included the stages of planning, implementing, observing, evaluating, and reflexing. The research was carried out in 2 cycles with 30 students in seventh grade of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang as subjects. The implementation of the CAR cycle in learning was carried out January-February 2023. Data on student achievement that was, recorded using an achievement test in the form of multiple choices. Learning achievement data were analyzed by a combination of quantitative and qualitative. Based on the results of data analysis, the use of the Shooting Star Game has a positive impact on student learning. The results also showed an increased in the class average score of 70 in post-test I and 89 in post-test II. This increase was the result of student involvement in the learning process through the use of the Shooting Star Game. Thus, it can be concluded that the used of Shooting Star Game was effective for increasing student achievement.
