The aim of this research is (1) to know how listening skills of the fourth grade elementary students of Tunas Van Den Broeck course of GMIT Kota Kupang can be improved. The writer took only one class, the fourth grade elementary students with the number of 11 students. The method used was classroom action research. This research was conductedusing Kemmis and McTaggart action research procedure: planning, acting, observing and reflecting. First cycle consists of two meetings. The observation, interview, and test were used to gather data for this research. The research was carried out in one cycle. The results in this research indicated that there was improvement of students’ listening skill. Most of the students gained good score at the end of the cycle. To know the improvement of students’ skill using children’s song, can be seen from the result of pre-test and post-test. The mean score of pre-test was 47.72 In pre-test there were only 3 from 11 students passed the test and got score up to 75 with a percentage of (27.27%). Mean score of post-test in cycle I was 75.09 and 9 students got score up to 75 with a percentage of (81.81%). In teaching and learning process, the teacher implemented children’s song as teaching media by giving the students song lyric related to the topic and asking them to fill the blank lyric. While in worksheets both pre-test and post-test the teacher use pictures to help students answered the questions easily. In conclusion using children’s song in teaching Listening can improve students’ listening skill.
