This thesis is entitled: ‘AN ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH CONJUNCTIONS IN THE GOSPEL OF MARK OF KING JAMES VERSION HOLY BIBLE’. Problems of this study are: (1) What are types of Conjunction used in the Gospel of Mark of King James Version Holy Bible? (2) How is each Conjunction used in the Gospel of Mark of King James Version Holy Bible? This study aims to identify types of conjunction used in the Gospel of Mark of King James Version Holy Bible and to know how each conjunction used in the Gospel of Mark of King James Version Holy Bible. The method used was descriptive qualitative method. The data resource was the Gospel of Mark of King James Version Holy Bible. The techniques used to collect the data was observation. The data analysis techniques used to collect the data ware identifying and describing techniques. The result shows that there are three types of conjunctions found in the Gospel of Mark of King James Version Holy Bible, as follows: (1) Coordinating Conjunction: The total number of this type of conjunctions is 853 conjunctions, consist of 119 conjunctions of ‘for’, 569 conjunctions of ‘and’, 3 conjunctions of ‘nor’, 115 conjunctions of ‘but’, 18 conjunctions of ‘or’, 9 conjunction of ‘yet’, and 20 conjunctions of ‘so’. (2)Subordinating Conjunction: The total number of this type of conjunctions is 384 conjunctions, consists of 19 conjunctions of ‘before’, 18 conjunctions of ‘after’, 4 conjunctions of ‘till’, 1 conjunction of ‘since, 35 conjunctions of ‘when’, 7 conjunctions of ‘while’, 16 conjunction of ‘because’, 51 conjunctions of ‘as’, 206 conjunction of ‘that’, 5 conjunctions of ‘so that’, 21 conjunctions of ‘if’, and 1 conjunction of ‘although’. (3)Correlative Conjunction: The total number of this type of conjunctions is 16 conjunctions, consists of 2 conjunctions of ‘neither …. Nor’, 2 conjunctions of ‘both … and’, 9 conjunctions of ‘as … as’, and 3 conjunctions of ‘if … than’. Based on this result all types of conjunctions are found in the Gospel of Mark of King James Version Holy Bible. The type of conjunctions mostly found is coordinating conjunction 853 conjunctions and the type of conjunction leastly found is correlative conjunction 16 conjunctions. The types of conjunctions do not only connect two clauses, but also connect more than two clauses. In this case there are two clauses placed before these conjunctions and one clause is placed after the conjunctions for example Mark 13: 24 is ‘but in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light.
