The problem of this study is: (1) Can the use of picture series improve the vocabulary of seventh-grade students of SMPN 16 Kupang in the academic year 2022/2023? The aim of this study is: (1). To find out whether the use of picture series can improvethe vocabulary of seventh-grade students at SMPN 16 Kupang in the academic year 2022/2023. The method used was classroom research with the quantitative method. The research was conducted in SMPN 16 Kupang. The population was seventh-grade students of SMPN 16 Kupang in the academic year 2022/2023. There were 225 students in the seventh grade of SMPN 16 Kupang the population, and the sample was 22 students, or 25% of the 225 students in the population. The instrument used was a test. It was a multiple-choice test that consist of 20 items. Analyzed by counting the average score of the test using picture series after the treatment. The result shows that picture series can improve students' vocabulary because based on the obtained average score was 82,34. It means that the use of picture series can improve the vocabulary of the seventh grade students in SMPN 16 Kupang in the academic year 2022/2023.
