The research is entitled: The analysis of Bui Ihi a traditional Ceremony in Eimau village, Sabu Raijua. The focus of this research is to find out the speech event of Bui Ihi in Eimau village, Sabu Raijua regency. The research subject of this study is people in Eimau village. The aim of this study is to know about the speech event of Bui Ihi ceremony in Eimau people. To analyze the problem, the researcher used Dell Hymes theory, speaking concept as the main theory. The research method that has been employed in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The result of this research explain the process of traditional ceremony Bui Ihi using Speaking concept namely: setting, participant, event, act sequence, key, instrumentalities, norms and genre. From the data obtained, the writer concluded that Bui Ihi ceremony is a sacred ceremony. Therefore, people who take part in the ceremony must follow the rules and procedures that have been set.
