<note>This study aims to find out the difficulty level and discrimination power of the multiple choice test constructed by an English teacher at ninth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Kupang Tengah, academic year 2019/2020. The method used in this study is documentation method and descriptive method with quantitative approachfor collecting the data. The data sources were the test items, answer key, and all the students’ answer sheet at the ninth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Kupang academic year 2019/2020. The result of this study showed  that for the level of difficluty was found that 27 items (54%) were easy, 22 items (44%) were moderate,and 1 item (2%) was difficult. The result of the analysis of the item discrimination power found that 23 items ( 46%) were poor, 8 items (16%) satisfactory, 8 items (16%) were good, 5 items (10%) were excellent, and 6 items (12%) were not good. Therefore, it can be concluded that, relatively the difficulty level and discrimination power of multiple choice test constructed by an English teacher at ninth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Kupang Tengah academic year 2019/2020 was categorized as not good item because having the biggest percentage of 44% (21 items) were acceptable, 36% (18 items) were need to revise, and 22% (11 items) were acceptable.
