The problems of this research are: first, what types of idiom are found in Katy Perry lyrics in album “Prism” and the second is what are the meaning of idioms found in Katy Perry lyrics in album “Prism”. The aims of this research are: first, to describe the types of idiom in Katy Perry lyrics in album “Prism” and the second is to find out the meanings of idiom in Katy Perry lyrics in album “Prism”. In this research, the researcher used qualitative analysis to analyze idiomatic expressions that found from Katy Perry song lyrics in the album “Prism”. The data resource of this research was Katy Perry song lyrics in the album “Prism”. Totally, there are thirteen songs in the album “Prism”. The data were collected by using observation and transcribing technique. The researcher analyzed the data by identifying, analyzing and classifying technique. In analyzing the data, the researcher found 17 idiomatic expressions in total. There were 4 Phrasal verb idioms, 4 Tournure Idioms, 2 Irreversible binomial idioms, 3 Phrasal compound idioms, 2 Incorporating verbs idioms, 2 Pseudo idioms with their own meaning. The meaning of the idiom found from the “Prism” album: "chewed up and spit out" which means to treat someone badly and discard them without any regard for their well being. "brushing off" which means to remove or disregard something.
