<note>This study is entitled: "The Use of Scrabble Game in Improving Vocabulary of Eleventh Grade Students of SMAK Sint Carolus Kupang in Academic Year2022/2023” This study aims The aim of this research is to know whether the use of the Scrabble game can improve the vocabulary of eleventh-grade students of SMAK Sint Carolus Kupang in the academic year 2022/2023. This research lasted for one week at SMAK Sint Carolus Kupang. The researcher chose class 11 IPA 2 students as the subjects of this research. This research is This research belongs to Classroom Action Research (CAR). The researcher will select 20%of150, the population that is 20% 150 students as the sample were 30 students. The researcher used three techniques to collect data: Pretest, and Post-test.
In the pre-test, the researcher gave 30 questions consist of 30 multiple choice to measure students' basic vocabulary knowledge. In the treatment, the researcher used the Scrabble game to learn vocabulary. After the treatment, the researcher conducted a Posttest to measure and determine the progress and level of students' vocabulary mastery after learning by using the Scrabble game. From the results of this study, the researchers found a significant increase in students' vocabulary knowledge after treatment using the scrabble game. The average student score has increased from 55 to 68,3. The presentation of the increase shows an increase of 21%. From these result, the researcher concluded that using the Scrabble game in the learning process was effective in increasing the level of students' vocabulary mastery. Thus, the Scrabble game can be used by teachers as a medium for learning English at school to increase students' vocabulary.</note>
