English vocabulary is a basic and important thing to learn. The purpose of learning vocabulary is to help the students to be able to communicate. The students need to learn vocabulary first before mastering the four skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Fly Swatter Game can be used as a learning media that is interesting and helpful for the students. This thesis is entitled The Use of Fly Swatter Game in Teaching Vocabulary the First-Grade Students of SMPN 10 Kupang in the School year 2023/2024. This study directs to find the implementation of a fly swatter game in teaching vocabulary. The subject of the study was the seventh-grade students of SMPN 10 Kupang. There were 30 students, 14 female and 22 male students. The writer also got data about the advantages of the fly swatter game in teaching vocabulary. The researcher used the descriptive–qualitative method in conducting the research. The researcher used observation and interviews in collecting the data. The observation was conducted two times to know the implementation of the fly swatter game in teaching vocabulary. To know the advantages of the fly swatter game in teaching vocabulary, the writer also interviews the students. Based on the research, the writer concluded the use of the Fly Swatter Game is effective to increase the student's vocabulary of the first-grade students of SMPN 10 Kupang. It is also an interesting and simple game. This game made students more enjoy and motivated in the teaching learning process. The teacher also can use a fly swatter game to improve students’ vocabulary.
