This research is entitled: PHONOLOGICAL COMPARISON BETWEEN ENDE AND ENDE LIO IN CENTRAL FLORES. There are two aims that the writer would like to achieve in this thesis. First, this thesis aims to obtain and describe the similarities between the phonology of Ende language and Ende-Lio language. Second, it aims to identify the differences between the phonology of Ende language and Ende-Lio language. The method was a qualitative descriptive method. Data collecting techniques in this writing were observation, unstructured interviews, recording, and transcribing. The procedures of this research were library and research field. The result of this research found there are six vowels in Ende, namely /a/,/i/,/u/,e/,/ə,/o/, and Lio has six vowels, namely /a/,/i/,/u/,/e/,/ə/,/o/. There are fourteen consonants in Ende, namely /p/, /t/, /k/, /b/, /d/, /g/, /m/, /n/, /ŋ/, /s/, /h/, /w/, /l/, and /r/. Meanwhile, Lio has sixteen consonants, namely /p/,/t/, /k/, /b/, /d/, /g/, /m/, /n/, /ɲ/, /ŋ/, /s/, /h/, /w/, /l/, /r/, /j/. The greater number of consonants in Lio indicates a significant difference in the sound system between the two languages. From the data found in this study, the writer also found that there is a fairly strong sound correspondence between Ende and Lio languages, such as /z/ and /l/ and /r/ and /j/. This is a stable correspondence between Ende and Lio sounds. Keywords: Phonological Comparison. Ende and Ende-Lio
