This study is entitled: “Reduplication in Lamboya language”. It aims to answer three questions: (1). What forms of reduplication does Lamboya language have? (2). What kind of words in the Lamboya language undergo reduplication? (3). What are the meanings of reduplication in Lamboya language? The objective of this study is to describe the form of reduplication found in Lamboya language, to describe the words that are reduplicated in Lamboya language and to describe the meaning of reduplication that is found in Lamboya language. The study was conducted in west Sumba, precisely in Lamboya district. It is a qualitative study. The data was collected through observation, interview and note-taking from some informants. To analyze the data that already exists, the researcher uses the method distributional and equivalent method Sudaryanto (Meiske, Mondolu. 2014:14-19). The distributional method is used to see the form of reduplication formation in Lamboya. Whereas the matching method is used to explain each meaning of reduplication in Lamboya. The writer found that there were three types of reduplication in Lamboya language, namely full reduplication, partial reduplication, reduplication in combination with affixing. And reduplication of phoneme changes. Full reduplication had four kinds. They were full reduplication with noun class, full reduplication with verb class, complete reduplication of adjectives, and a classy full reduplication of adverbial words. Partial reduplication had three kinds. They were verb-class partial repetition, adjective classy partial repetition, and adverb class partial reduplication.
