An Analysisi of Reading Comprehension of Eighth Graders of SMP Negeri 2 Mamboro, South Central Sumba Regency. English Study Program. The aim of this study is to find out to find out the improvement of reading abilities of eighth graders of SMP Negeri 2 Mamboro. The method that was used in this research was a kuantitative method. The technique of data collection were pre-test and post-test. The research was carried out at SMP Negeri 2 Mamboro for 4 days. The first day July 24th 2023, the second day July 25th 2023, the third day July 27th 2023, and the fourth day July 28th 2023. The result shows that the students’ scores increased significantly from the pre-test to post-test.In the pre-test only 15.38% of students reached the minimum mastery criteria, while in the post test in changed to 100% besides the students mean score 80.30% this improvement happened because of the implementation reading text as a media for teaching.
