This thesis is entitled The Difficulties of Using YouTube Videos in Learning Listening Skills for first-semester students of Nusa Cendana University for the academic year 2022/2023. The subject of this study was a first-semester student in the English Study Program at Nusa Cendana University. The method used in this study is qualitative. In this study, researchers gave questionnaires and conducted interviews with first-semester students at Nusa Cendana University. The data collection techniques used in the study were questionnaires and interviews. This study aims to determine the difficulties faced by first-semester students in using YouTube videos as a learning listening skill. The results of the study show that the difficulties experienced by students in using YouTube videos for listening learning are as follows: Difficulty in understanding the vocabulary used in YouTube videos, Difficulty keeping up with too fast a speech speed, Difficulty in choosing videos that suit the student's ability level, and Difficulty in understanding the accent and intonation used in the video.
