This research entitled Character Building Values of “Waratada” Folklore in Sabunese Language which was conducted by Rogasianus Hilman Mado, a student of Postgraduate Program of English Education Study Program of University of Nusa Cendana Kupang. This research is conducted to find the values of character building contained in 'Waratada' folklore which is originated from Sabu Raijua Regency. This research employed qualitative method that produced descriptive data. In collecting the data the researcher used interview, observation and transcription. All the data were identified, classified andanalyzed qualitatively using the inductive method. From this study the researchers found three values of character education contained in 'Waratada' folklore. Religious is one of the values that have been standardized by the government in the education curriculum in Indonesia, while the other values were humanity and feminism. The authors find them as potential values that should be developed as the basis for character building in Indonesia. Key words: Character building, Value, Sabunese Language and Folklore.
