<note>This research is aimed at identifying the features of kinesics performed by the teachers of Hand Fortuna HRD and English Course in teaching English as a foreign language, the functions of the each features of kinesics and the features of kinesics most frequently used by the teachers in teaching English. The research applied qualitative research design. The subjects of the research consisted of two English teachers of Fortuna English Course. The instruments of the research are classroom observation and Documentation. The data gathered had been analyzed through data analysis proposed by Miles and Huberman (1994), namely data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing.The results of this research revealed that there were some features of kinesics commonly used by the teachers of Fortuna English Course. It was found that some of teachers’ nonverbal cues were stand-alone and others were combined with teachers’ verbal messages. The nonverbal signals that most frequently used on kinesics by the teacher are illustrators, regulators, emblems, and affect display especially on expression of happiness, smile, and frown. This study implies that the teacher’s use of nonverbal communication is important which can give specific contribution and influences to teaching and learning process in the classroom.
