The title of this research is “Semiotic Analysis Of Noni Bijae In Marriage Ceremony In Ponain Village Of Amarasi Sub-District Of Kupang Regency”. The purposes of this research are to find out the forms of Noni Bijae in the traditional marriage in Ponain village, and to find out the symbolic meanings of Noni Bijae forms in traditional marriage in Ponain village. This research used descriptive-qualitative method. The are 3 informants from Ponain village. This research used interview, recording, and note-taking to collect the data and to answer the research questions. From the the three informants data, the researcher found that there were ten symbols in wedding ceremony in Ponain ,Amarasi Kupang Regency. The symbols were Pakian Adat (traditional cloths), Destar (headband), Pato (hairpin), Alkitab (bible), Oko (areca nut box), Po’ok (shawl), Pua Bonak (betel nuts), Kreni (ring), Bijae (cow), Roet (money). The researcher also found four types of meaning of those symbols namely conceptual meaning, cultural meaning, connotative meaning, and social meaning. From the result of this research, the researcher suggested this research as one of the references to enrich young generation knowledge about symbol and to make them comprehend with the meaning of symbols based on semiotic study, and for the future students who study about semiotic field analyzing especially in the cultural symbol and meaning.
