Memes are tipically humorous images, videos, or text that are shared and spread rapidly on the internet, often conveying a cultural or social message in a humorous or satirical way. They can be in various forms and a popular means of communication and entertainment online. The problems of this research (1) what are the types of memes used on Facebook, (2) What are the semiotic meanings that can be interpreted fron the types of memes on Facebook. The aims of this study (1) This research aims at explaining the types of memes used on Facebook, (2) This writing aims to interpret the semiotic meanings from the types of memes on Facebook. This research design of this study was a descriptive qualitative method. The techniques that the writer used in analyzing the data are content analysis and sentiment analysis. The writer found five types of memes, they are (1) satire meme, (2) love meme, (3) motivation meme, (4) jokes meme, (5) political meme. In this study the writer expects that this study can provide something helpful for readers who are interested in studying semiotic meaning more comprehensively.
