<note>This research aims to determine the use of the roundtable strategy in improving English writing skills by class tenth-A students at SMA Negeri 1 Kupang Barat, in the academic year of 2022/2023, and also to find out the strengths and weaknesses of using the roundtable strategy. The researcher uses library research and field research as research procedures. The research method used in this research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method and quantitative descriptive research. In this research, the author only chose one class from 6 classes where one class consisted of 30students which the researcher used as a data source. The data collection technique used is in the form of data collection steps, namely stage preparation, implementation stage, namely by creating pretest and posttest questions, and the final step, namely the final stage and documentation. The author uses counting, identifying and describing techniques to analyze the data. The results of this research indicate that the roundtable technique is effectively used to improve students' descriptive text writing skills because there is a significant difference between the progress of students' writing skills after it is applied. Roundtable Technique and before applying the Roundtable Technique. It turns out that there is indeed a significant difference between student learning outcomes in the activities carried out, namely pretest and posttest.
