<note>This study is entitled: “A STUDY ON INTERROGATIVES IN MOLLO DIALECT OF UAB METO SPOKEN IN NUNBENA VILLAGE, SOUTH CENTRAL TIMOR  REGENCY”. The problems of this study are: (1) What question words are used to express interrogatives in Mollo dialect of Uab Meto spoken in Nunbena Village, South Central Timor Regency?, (2) How many types of interrogatives found in Mollo dialect of Uab Meto spoken in Nunbena Village, South Central Timor Regency?, (3) What are the patterns in constructing interrogatives in Mollodialect of Uab Meto spoken in Nunbena Village, South Central Timor Regency?. There are three aims of the study, namely: (1) To find out the question words that are used to express interrogatives in Mollo dialect of Uab Meto spoken in Nunbena Village, South Central Timor Regency, (2) To classify the types of interrogative that are found in Mollo dialect of Uab Meto spoken in Nunbena Village, South Central Timor Regency, and (3) To describe the interrogative constructions in Mollo dialect of Uab Meto spoken in Nunbena Village, South Central Timor Regency. The writer selected five native speakers of Mollo dialect of Uab Meto from Nunbena Village as informants. The instrument of this study is the researcher himself which assisted by using list of sentences in the form of questions. He provided list of 50 questions in Indonesian, and the informants were asked to translate into Mollo dialect of Uab Meto. Observation, interview, recording and note taking were the data collection techniques of this study. The writer analyzes the data by using three procedures, namely: identifying, classifying and describing. The result shows that: (1). there are nine kinds of question words that are used to express interrogatives in Mollo dialect of Uab Meto, namely: sa/sa’an (what), leka (when), sekau (who,whom,), onme (how), esme/makome/noime(where), le’me (which), nansa (why), fauk (how many and how much) and ai/ait (a kind of auxiliary), (2). there are two types of interrogative in Mollo dialect of Uab Meto, namely: information question and yes/no question.(3). the patterns of interrogative constructions in Mollo dialect of Uab Meto are as follows: (S + Aux/N/+V + QW)and (QW +S/Conj/Pron + V) are the patterns of information question, and (Aux + S/Pron+ Adj/N+ V + QT) is the pattern of yes/no question.
