<note>This research was conducted to answer the following questions: (1) What are English writing materials used by an English teacher of SMKS Kristen 1 Kupang? (2) What are the strategies applied by the English teacher in teaching English to Her students at SMKS Kristen 1 Kupang? (3) What is the English writing teaching result of the teacher teaching at SMKS Kristen 1 Kupang? The aims of this research are: (1) To assess the qualities of English writing teaching materials. (2) To identify the types of the strategies applied to the writing teaching. (3) To assess the result of this teaching program. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative research method. Data collection was conducted in SMKS Kristen 1 Kupang. The subjects of this research were the English Teacher of SMKS Kristen 1 Kupang. The instruments of research applied were observation, interview and documentation. This research shows that English teachers' materials are very detailed for students to understand. However, based on the observations of the writer, it shows that some of the students are still making some mistakes in their writing. There are many strategies in teaching that were applied by the teacher. Based on the research data of the improvement of learning results in eleventh grade students of SMKS Kristen 1 Kupang can be well applied by the teacher and students can follow it. It means that the students' learning results in writing instruction were good.
