ABSTRACK This thesis is entitled: ‘The Traditional Song of Sumbagu in Wewewa Language the Mirror of Sumbanese Culture with Special Reference to Forms and Meanings; A Cultural Linguistic Analysis. This research aims to describe the form of the lyrics in Wewewa traditional song and to describe the meaning of the lyrics in Wewewa traditional song. The writer has formulated two research questions of this study as follows : 1.What is the form of the lyrics in the traditional song of Sumbagu in the Wewewa Language? 2.What is the meaning of the lyrics in the traditional song of Sumbagu in the Wewewa Language?. The writer used a descriptive qualitative method. The writer has selected 1 informant who knows and understands the Wewewa language. The data were collected by using note taking, observation, and an interview. The writer described the result based on interviews with the informant. The researcher presented data in the form of a narrative description. The result shows that there were the song has structural forms and spesific meanings. The song cantaines form of the formal structure, and lyrics. The song containes historical, social, religious, ecological, and economic meanings. The historical, social, religious, ecological, and economic meanings stated and implied in the forms of linguistic phenomena used in the traditional song of Sumbagu can be seen in data was divided into 17 data from each lyrics of the song Sumbagu.
