<note>This thesis entitled: ‘THE USE OF QUANTUM LEARNING METHOD TO IMPROVE READING COMPREHENSION OF PROCEDURE TEXT OF EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS AT SMP NEGERI 6 KUPANG’. The main objectives of this research is to know the use of quantum learning of procedure text improve the student’s reading comprehension of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri Kupang. The method used was experimental method. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 6 Kupang. The population of this research was 308 students of SMP Negeri 6 Kupang. The researcher selected 11% of the population which was 32 students as a sample. This sample was divided into two classess, such as experimental class consist of 16 students and control class consist of 16 students. The instrument used to collect data to measure the value of variables was a test that is multiple choice that consist of 20 items. In collecting the data, the researcher used pre-test, treatment and post-test and questionnaire as the data collection procedures, then followed by analyzing the data by using t-test formula. The result shows that using of quantum learning of procedure text can improve students reading comprehension of eighth grade student of SMP Negeri 6 Kupang, because the result of the statistical calculation indicated that the value of t-test was 7,39 and the value of df (degree of freedom) 30 at the level of significance 5% was 2,04. It can be concluded that t-test was higher than t-table where 7,39 > 2,04. Since t-test value is higher than the t-table value thus, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. It means the use of quantum learning of procedure text can improve students reading comprehension of eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 6 Kupang.
