This thesis is entitled: ‘Analysis of Meaning of Forms in Pati Ka Du'a Bapu Ata Mata Ritual in Pemo Village, Ende Regency’. The study was conducted to answer the problems, such as: (1) What are the forms of the Pati Ka Du’a Bapu Ata Mata ritual in Pemo village, Ende regency? (2) What are the SPEAKING Dell Hymes theory in Pati Ka Du’a Bapu Ata Mata ritual in Pemo village, Ende regency?? This study aims to find out the forms of the Pati Ka Du’a Bapu Ata Mata ritual and to describe the SPEAKING Dell Hymes theory in the Pati Ka Du’a Bapu Ata Mata ritual in Pemo village, Ende regency. The research design used was a descriptive qualitative method. The research was conducted in Pemo village, Kelimutu Sub-district, Ende regency. The data resource of this research was five informants. The data were collected by using observation, interview, recording, and note-taking techniques. The data were analyzed by using transcribing, identifying, and describing techniques. The results show that there are ten forms some examples of forms are, such as: a.'Watu Ko Wau'si Tana Ko Mbana Si' means asking for good things and throwing away bad things. b.‘Singi Langi Gene Ata Fai Ghawa Ata Kaki Sawe Kiwa Lemba' means 'limits', the upper limit for women and the lower limit for men until the end of the year changes. And eight concept Speaking Dell hymes of forms of Pati Ka Du'a Baru Ata Mata ritual in Pemo village, Kelimutu sub-district, Ende regency. There are eight Dell Hymes’s concept theories of SPEAKING, such as, a. Setting and Scene (S), in this ritual led in the Detu Ketae (altar) where offerings are held on Kelimutu lake, b. Participant (P), in Pati Ka Du’a Bapu Ata Mata ritual, is not limited to customary leaders, pemo people, visitor, and children c. Ends (E), the purpose of Pati Ka Du’a Bapu Ata Mata ritual is as a form of gratitude and thanks to the ancestors who have helped protect and preserve nature, d. Act Sequence (A), example: Pati Kami Sebondho Bondho, The meaning of the sentence Pati Kami Sebondho Bondho is to explain the word ask (Rina). Pati means to give, and Sebondho-Bondho means to give us more gifts, e. Key (K), in Pati Ka Du'a Bapu Ata Mata Ritual, are the Pemo community, and Mosalaki prepared offerings in the form of black rice or are mera, pork or nake wawi, chicken or nake manu, liquor or moke, betel nut or mota keu oka, cigarettes or mbako, coffee, water or ae and candles or lili, f. Instrument (I), Pati Ka Du'a Bapu Ata Mata ritual is performed in the Pemo village of Ende regency in the Lio tribe, this ritual is led by Mosalaki using the local language, namely the Lio language from the Pemo village of the Lio tribe. g. Norms (N), In Pati Ka Du'a Bapu Ata Mata ritual, three norms must be carried out. The norms referred to are norms of politeness and behavior, norms of respect, and norms of dress, and h. Genre (G), Example: Watu Ko Wau'si Tana Ko Mbana Si, The meaning of the sentence Watu Ko Wau'si Tana Ko Mbana Si is to ask for good things or Rina Ria Soso Masa. This sentence means the intention that good things come and bad things go. Good things are likened to stone or Watu and bad things to land or Tana.
