This thesis is entitled; ‘Forms and Meaning of the Corresponding Expression for eat in English and Fataluku language’. This study was conducted to answer the problems: (1) What are the equivalent expression for the eat in English and Fataluku language? (2) What are the contextual use of equivalent expressions for the verb eat in the English and Fataluku language?. This study aims: (1) To describe the equivalent expression of the verb eat in English and Fataluku language.(2) to describe the contextual use of equivalent expression for the verb eat in English and Fataluku language. The research design used was descriptive qualitative method. The data resource were three informants who know about Fataluku language. The data were collected by using some techniques, such as observation, interview, and recording. The datawere analyzed by using identifying, describing techniques. The result shows that: (1) there are three forms of the corresponding expression found in verb in Fataluku language, they are (a) , For example, Hai ma' u afi la' a mace (Let’ s go to eat), (b) Una, For example, Waka arapo fajehu una (Cows eat grass in the garden), (c) Tia, For example, Ana malu tia ( I eat the betel ).
