<note>This study aims at determining the relationship between English learning motivation and learning outcomes of 12th grade students of SMAN Alemba Alor and to find out in what ways motivation relates to learning outcomes. This type of research was a correlative study using the Product Moment formula. The method used in this study was a mixed method between descriptive quantitative and descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used were questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The results of the study showed that the correlation value between English learning motivation and students’ achievement was r = 0.063. It means that, those having high motivation tend to be more successful than those were low. And based on the interview results, there is a tight influence between extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. However, intrinsic motivation is more 
influential than extrinsic motivation. In order that English teacher must provide motivation to students with a variety of forms and varied teaching techniques such that as to increase students' interest in learning.
