<note>This study investigates the use of the "Snake and Ladder" game to improve the speaking skills of 3rd-grade students at SMP Katolik Wolowaru during the academic year 2024/2025. The research addresses two main questions: (1) How is the "Snake and Ladder" game implemented to improve students' speaking skills? and (2) What are the results of using this method in teaching the students? Employing a qualitative research methodology, the subjects of this research were be IX grade students in SMP Katholik Wolowaru and English Teacher. This school has two classes, which are A and B. The total number of students from classes IX A to B is 58. The researcher was choose 23 students in class A to do the post test, after they have finish the pre-test, this research was conducted in March 2024 for the IXA Grade students in SMP Katholik Wolowaru academic year 2024/2025, the study found that the "Snake and Ladder" game can be implemented in various ways to enhance students' speaking abilities, namely: (1) by creating a more related environtmen, (2) by addressing specificspeaking skills, etc. The game was used for vocabulary practice by having students describe pictures, read short texts, and answer questions; grammar practice through different verb tenses, sentence structures, and question forms; fluency practice by encouraging complete sentences and the use of connecting words; and pronunciation practice by focusing on individual sounds and imitating native speakers. The use of "Snake and Ladder" as an educational tool significantly improved students' speaking skills by providing a dynamic and engaging platform for practice in a fun, low-pressure environment. Pre-tests and post-tests, demonstrated that the game fostered an increase in vocabulary, fluency, and confidence. Furthermore, the game's collaborative nature promoted active listening and turn-taking, essential components of effective communication. In conclusion, while the "Snake and Ladder" game is an effective method for improving English-speaking skills in young children, it should be combined with other learning methods and supported by the roles of parents and teachers to achieve optimal results.
