This research is about English teachers’ strategies in teaching reading comprehension to seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 11 Kota Kupang in the academic year 2023/2024. The research problems of this study are (1) What teaching strategies that are used by English teachers in teaching reading comprehension to seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 11 Kota Kupang in the academic year 2023/2024? (2) How do the English teachers apply their strategies in teaching reading comprehension to seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 11 Kota Kupang in the academic year 2023/2024 this study aims To find out the English teacher strategies in teaching reading to seventh grade students of SMP 11 Kota Kupang in academic year 2023/2024 Describe how English teachers apply their strategies in teaching reading comprehens to the seventh grade students of SMP 11 Kota Kupang the academic year 2023/2024 The research method used in this study was qualitative descriptive method. The subject of this research were two English teachers of SMPN 11 Kota Kupang, who teach English to the seventh grade students of the school. The technique used to collection data were observation, interview and video recording. The teachers used these strategies to make the students understand the reading texts and the students are guide to focus more on the next and the teachers also could help students develop the meaning contained the next reading so that students understand more the content of reading. The teachers apply their Strategy in teaching reading comprehension in SMPN 11 kota Kupang as follows : Scaffolding, QARs (Question Answer Relationships), Discussion Strategies.
