The research is entitled “The Structure of The Short Story of Lelaki Tua dan Kudanya By Bonifasius Bulu”. The problem raised in this study is about the structure of the short story Lelaki Tua dan Kudanya by Bonifasius Bulu. The purpose of this study was to determine the structure of the short story Lelaki Tua dan Kudanya by Bonifasius Bulu. The method used in this study was qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study were concluded as follows: (1) The theme of the short story Lelaki Tua dan Kudanya is that habit of gambling and drunkennes is the root of evil. (2) The short story of Lelaki Tua dan Kudanya uses medias res plot and consist of seven divided into five plot stages. (3) The character in the short story are Malo Lede and Lelu as the main character, Pilipus Malo as an additional character. (4) The setting in the short story is the setting of place, time setting, and social setting. The setting of the place are behind the bamboo wall, in a bale-bale, in a coffee plantation, on the edge of a kangali, and behind the logs. The time setting are three days ago, before the nightfall, yesterday afternoon, and at midnight. The social setting in the short story is the life of Wewewa tribe which is describe through naming characters, using local languages, ways of thinking and behaving, and customs.
