Rhipicephalus sanguineus is an ectoparasite affecting dogs and human. Dogs infested with ticks are usually treated with synthetic pesticides. The use of synthetic pesticides can be reduced by using natural ingredients such as maja plants and tomato plants. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the ethanol extract of maja leaves and tomato leaves against ticks and to find out how much concentration of maja leaf and tomato leaf extracts were effective in killing ticks. This study used 100 ticks Rhipicephalus sanguineus, where each extract used 50 ticks. Each treatment was divided into 5 groups, namely the negative control (KN) was given aquadest, the positive control (KP) was given deltamethrin, and three treatment groups were given maja extract or tomato extract respectively 2.5%, 5% and 10%. The parameter observed was the mortality of the tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus. Analysis of research data using the one way ANOVA test and continued with the LSD test. The results showed that maja leaf and tomato leaf extracts were able to kill ticks ranging from 2.5% to 10% concentration but at 10% concentration the time needed to kill ticks was faster. Therefore, the most effective concentration to kill the tick Rhipicephalus sanguines is a concentration of 10%. Keywords: Tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus, maja leaf extract, tomato leaf extract
