ED This study deals with the ability in using quantifiers with countable and uncountable nouns of the first grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Kupang. The aim of this study is to know to what extent are the students able to use countable and uncountable nouns and also to identify the score achieve made by the students. The method of research employed is the descriptive one. The population is all the first grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Kupang, consisting of 225 students and only 25 students of the total population are randomly chosen to be the sample of this research. The students’ ability level was analyzed by using standard formula given by Arikunto. The result of the data analysis shows that the students’ ability in using quantifier with countable and uncountable nouns on multiple choice test was fair, with the total percentage is 70.6 %. From the result of previous discussion, it is clear enough to conclude that the result for multiple choice test, there are 1 achieved 80 (4 %), 2 students achieved 65 (8 %), 1 student achieved 60 (4 %), 1 student achieved 50 (4 %), 1 student achieved 45 (4 %), 2 students achieved 40 (8 %), 2 students achieved 35 (8 %), 2 students achieved 30 (8 %), 6 students achieved 25 (24 %), 2 students achieved 20 (8 %). This also means that the writer found the students ability about countable and uncountable nouns good enough. Key words: Quantifier, Countable and Uncountable Nouns, Ability, use
