This research is entitled 'The Poetic Function of Ritual Speech of Hang Rani Ceremony in Ruis Dialect of Manggarai Language.' This research aims to investigate the poetic function contained in the ritual speech of Hang Rani ceremony in Ruis dialect of Manggarai Language. The researcher has formulated a problem formulation, namely “What is the poetic function of ritual speech of Hang Rani in Ruis Dialect of Manggarai language? This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The data collection techniques were in-depth interviews, recording, and note-taking. The result of this research, the researcher has found eight data points because they have the characteristics of poetic function. These data contain the beauty of form and also invite sensory pleasure when spoken and listened to, which can be characterized by linguistic poetic phenomena such as syntactic parallelism, phonological parallelism, and semantic parallelism. In addition, the data also have their own message orientation to the community in the social context of the Manggarai community.
